Come take a relaxed cycle with us as local tour guide Lucy Stofberg cycles you around this ever-popular university town of picturesque oak lanes and historic streets lined with the early Cape Dutch architecture. South Africa’s second oldest town, Stellenbosch’s lively and cosmopolitan center, together with the beautiful meandering Eerste river, art galleries, delis and boutique shops is definitely a tour worth taking!
Lucy grew up in Stellenbosch and after finishing her schooling moved abroad to study. Her enthusiasm about South Africa and deep-routed love for her home town drew her back to her roots and she decided to take up becoming a guide. “I also really enjoy wildlife and just being outdoors and I think tourism alongside with conservation is exciting as it helps with the growth of our country and giving us the opportunity to make it accessible and easy to share with everyone. I look forward to meeting you here in beautiful Stellenbosch!”

As a premier tourist destination, the name Stellenbosch conjures up images that very few other South African towns or cities can. The region offers award winning wines, gourmet restaurants, world renowned cultural, retail and leisure attractions as well as something for the sporty and adventurer. This, combined with the vibrancy of a cosmopolitan centre, makes Stellenbosch the place to stay when visiting the region.
As a mountain biking destination, Stellenbosch is probably South Africa but the town has recently seen a huge increase in popularity within the international mountain bike and road professional circles as well, and is now seen as one of the best destinations in the world for leisure cycling and off-season training. In fact, the opening round of the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will be held on the slopes of the Coetzenburg Mountain, bringing with it the crème de la crème of international cross country mountain biking. With its endless trails and open roads in and around the town, one is most definitely spoilt for choice and availability.

Their kindness and support helps us in our community projects in and around Stellenbosch, that without them would not be possible at all.
